Join a forward-thinking small animal team in Woodbridge with genuine work-life balance—no OOH shifts required, thanks to their dedicated MiNight team. Moving into a brand new, state-of-the-art building in early 2026, this is the rare chance to grow with a practice that sees colleagues as friends.

🕐 Schedule & Rota

No out-of-hours shifts required. The practice has a dedicated MiNight team handling all OOH cover.

About the Role

This is your opportunity to join a progressive, supportive small animal practice in Woodbridge that’s genuinely going places. The team prides itself on being loyal, collaborative, and—refreshingly—actually enjoying coming to work together. Right now is an ideal time to join: the practice is relocating to a brand new, fully equipped state-of-the-art building in early 2026, offering a chance to be part of something exciting from the ground up.

You’ll work full-time or part-time (up to 40 hours per week) Monday to Friday with 1:4 Saturday cover. Early and late shifts between 8am–7pm are standard, though flexibility can be arranged to suit you. The real highlight? Because the practice has their own MiNight team, no out-of-hours shifts are required—giving you genuine work-life balance. The practice is commutable from Tunstall, Felixstowe, Framlingham, Saxmundham, Stowmarket, Claydon and surrounding areas.

The team values progression seriously. If you have career ambitions—whether in further specialisms or clinical development—they’re committed to putting a structured plan in place to help you get there. Their internal development schemes and access to both internal and external training programmes mean continuous learning is built into your role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide small animal veterinary care and clinical consultations across the practice’s daytime schedule
  • Manage Saturday sole-charge duties with confidence and clinical autonomy
  • Support team colleagues by providing cover flexibility during colleague holidays as needed
  • Contribute to the collaborative, friendly culture the practice has built over years of intentional team development
  • Engage with ongoing professional development opportunities offered through the practice’s structured programmes

Requirements

  • Qualified veterinary surgeon (RCVS registered)
  • Minimum 2+ years post-qualification experience
  • Confident and comfortable working sole-charge on Saturdays
  • Flexibility and willingness to cover colleague shifts during holidays
  • Comfort with flexible early and late shifts (8am–7pm), though this can be adjusted

Benefits

  • Salary: Up to £60,000 (pro rata for part-time applicants, depending on experience)
  • Leave: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata), with a Buy/Sell holiday scheme allowing purchase of up to four additional weeks
  • Extra leave: One additional day per year during your first five years at CVS
  • Professional development: Generously encouraged and fully funded CPD, including access to internal and external training courses and specialist programmes
  • Professional fees: RCVS, VDS and all subscription fees covered
  • Wellbeing support: Employee Assistance Programme; First Aid for Mental Health training and Wellbeing Champions across CVS
  • Family support: Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption pay
  • Pension: Automatic enrolment scheme, completely hassle-free
  • Lifestyle benefits: Cycle to work scheme and subsidised gym membership
  • Pet perks: Colleague discount on pet products and treatments, including free consultations, cost-price drugs, and discounts on the online pharmacy Animed
  • Share scheme: Access to company share-save scheme
