Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

You’ll be joining a well-equipped small animal practice in Leyton with a reputation for supportive teamwork and excellent patient care. This full-time role offers a healthy work-life balance: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, with Saturday mornings on a 1-in-4 rota (8:00am–2:30pm only). There’s no Sunday or out-of-hours work, giving you genuine time to switch off.

As an RVN here, you’ll get real variety—from theatre support and anaesthesia monitoring through to running your own nurse consultations and kennel care. You’ll work alongside a Head Nurse and veterinary surgeons in a practice that’s RCVS-accredited and genuinely invested in your development. The practice has been serving the Leyton community since 1974 and has a long track record as a Registered Veterinary Nurse Training Practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide theatre and surgical support, including anaesthesia monitoring
• Run nurse-led consultations and deliver medical care in the kennels
• Assist the Head Nurse and veterinary surgeons with day-to-day clinical duties
• Support stock control, ordering, and site management responsibilities
• Maintain high standards of patient care, hygiene, and clinical protocols across the practice

Requirements

• RCVS-qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse
• Experience in surgery and nurse consultations (preferred)
• Clinical Coach experience (desirable)
• Reception knowledge (a bonus, but not essential)
• Friendly, organised, and enthusiastic team player

About the Practice

Midland Veterinary Surgery has been part of the Leyton community since 1974 and was substantially renovated in recent years. The practice is RCVS-accredited and equipped with a laboratory suite, theatre, 3 consulting rooms, radiography, and dental x-ray facilities. You’ll also have access to visiting ultrasonographers and a certificate-holder surgeon for complex cases. The team is passionate about delivering excellent general practice care in a friendly, collaborative environment.

The practice joined IVC Evidensia (part of Mars Veterinary Health) in 2018 and has been a Registered Veterinary Nurse Training Practice for many years, so supporting RVN development is genuinely embedded in the culture.
