About the Role

Peak Vets is looking for an experienced small animal veterinary surgeon to join their close-knit Sheffield team. This is a full-time position working 40 hours over a 4-day week with a manageable 1:5 weekend rota (Saturday 8.30am–4pm and Sunday 9am–1pm, on-call for inpatients only after hours). You’ll enjoy a varied caseload of consultations and surgeries in a practice where colleagues genuinely love what they do and stay for years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality small animal consultations and routine surgical procedures
  • Manage basic emergency procedures as part of the practice workflow
  • Contribute to the practice’s RSPCA welfare casework
  • Engage with ongoing clinical discussions and journal clubs to stay current with best practice
  • Develop advanced clinical skills and pursue professional interests (the practice actively supports certificate studies)
  • Work collaboratively with an outstanding nursing and client care team across the four consulting rooms and two operating theatres

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in small animal practice
  • Confidence with routine primary care duties and basic emergency procedures
  • A genuine interest in developing advanced skills and pursuing professional growth
  • Strong teamwork ethic and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
  • Full UK veterinary registration (RCVS)
