Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

Rufford Veterinary Group is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join their Southport branch, with flexibility to support their Rufford location when needed. You’ll be the welcoming face of a well-established practice that has been caring for the local community and their pets for many years. Based in a semi-rural setting at the gateway to North Wales and the Lake District, the practice benefits from easy access to rail and motorway links, with Liverpool and Manchester within striking distance. The surgery operates 8:00am–8:00pm on weekdays and 8:00am–5:00pm at weekends, with rota-based cover available—and room for negotiation on hours for the right candidate.

You’ll work in a practice equipped with modern diagnostic tools including digital X-ray, in-house laboratory, blood machines, ECG, ultrasound scanner, and endoscope, enabling thorough case work-up and a varied working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Reception duties: greeting clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism
• Telephone enquiries and appointment management
• Administrative support including insurance processing, pet health care records, and debt management
• Cash handling and financial transactions
• Supporting clinical and nursing team members
• Practice cleaning and maintenance tasks
• Contributing to a friendly, team-focused environment

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence required (to cover both Southport and Rufford branches as needed)
