About the Role

You’ll be joining Rutland House Veterinary Hospital’s dedicated nursing team in a full-time position that rotates across the hospital’s different departments. This is a first opinion and referral practice with RCVS accreditation and a large team of vets and nurses, plus 9 surrounding branches. Crucially, there’s no out-of-hours requirement—you’ll work daytime and early evening shifts only, with the option to pick up additional paid OOH shifts if you choose.

Your week will take you through wards, theatre (both referral and first opinion cases), dermatology, medicine, dispensary, and nurse clinics, managing a varied and interesting caseload to a high standard. You’ll be part of an impressive nursing team that includes ACAs, SVNs, RVNs, and diploma-holding RVNs, all working collaboratively in a busy hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rotate through hospital departments including wards, theatre, dermatology, medicine, and nurse clinics
  • Provide high-standard patient care across a varied caseload
  • Contribute to surgical nursing, patient monitoring, and post-operative care
  • Deliver nurse-led clinics and laboratory work
  • Work collaboratively with a large team of vets and nurses at the main hospital

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
  • Passion for delivering high-standard care to both clients and patients
  • Experience and enjoyment of varied nursing duties: patient care, nurse clinics, lab work, and surgical nursing
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative hospital team
