You’ll join Vale Vets and Referrals in Dursley as a Registered Veterinary Nurse on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a varied clinical role across first opinion and referral work, with rotations through first opinion surgery, wards, ophthalmology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, medicine and nursing clinics.
The hospital has recently expanded, with new facilities including 5 theatres, a medicine suite for ultrasound and endoscopy, a dental room, x-ray, larger ward areas, a separate cat ward and treatment room, a separate exotics ward, and an onsite CT scanner. You’ll be part of a large nursing team of 38 RVNs, SVNs and hospital assistants.
The working pattern is 40 hours per week over 5 days, with 8-hour shifts and a 30-minute lunch break. The rota includes 1 in 8 weekends with time off in lieu, plus minimal weekday on-call duties.
