About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to establish and lead your own veterinary practice as part of the Vets for Pets ownership model. You'll be opening a brand-new, fully equipped small animal practice in St Neots, a thriving market town in Cambridgeshire, positioned within an existing Pet Care Centre that attracts a steady stream of new pet owners and established clients. This full-time, permanent role gives you complete clinical and operational autonomy to shape your practice culture, client relationships, and clinical direction—while benefiting from expert guidance, brand recognition, and financial support from day one.

The practice will occupy a custom-built mezzanine space including three consulting rooms, preparation area, theatre, X-ray, pharmacy, laboratory, separate cat and dog wards with dedicated waiting areas, isolation ward, office, and fully branded reception. You could be up and running within 6–12 months. St Neots sits conveniently within easy reach of Cambridge, Milton Keynes, and Bedford, offering an excellent location to build a thriving client base.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and manage the clinical operations of your own small animal practice
• Lead recruitment and team culture development
• Drive client relationships and build community reputation
• Make independent clinical and surgical decisions with full professional autonomy
• Manage practice finances, payroll, and strategic business planning (with dedicated support from Vets for Pets)
• Build your client base and grow practice turnover

Requirements

• Qualified veterinary surgeon (MRCVS registration)
• Experienced in small animal clinical practice
• Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to own and run your own business
• Initial investment of £20,000 for sole ownership (or split between co-owners); remaining finance arranged through partnered banks
• Willingness to engage with business development and practice growth
