About the Role

Amesbury Vets for Pets is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, supportive team. The role comes with a salary of up to £55,000 depending on experience, full-time or part-time working, and no out-of-hours work.

You will be part of a welcoming practice where clinical development is encouraged, alongside a varied caseload that includes routine consultations and first-opinion work. The team also welcomes visiting specialists in orthopaedics, cardiology and ophthalmology, plus a visiting mobile CT scanner and pain management clinics, including acupuncture.

The location adds extra appeal too, with Amesbury town centre close by, Salisbury around 20 minutes away by car, and Stonehenge and the Wiltshire countryside nearby. Free parking is available at the practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver first-opinion veterinary care and routine consultations
• Work across a varied caseload and contribute to ongoing case workup
• Support patients and clients through a collaborative, team-based approach
• Contribute to clinical discussions and the development of areas of interest where appropriate
• Work alongside visiting specialists and with access to in-house diagnostic equipment

Requirements

• Veterinary Surgeon with at least three years' experience
• Compassionate and motivated approach to patient care
• Confident communication with clients and colleagues
• Ability to work well in a collaborative environment
• Genuine interest in continuing clinical development

About the Practice

Amesbury Vets for Pets is a Vets for Pets practice in Wiltshire. The team is described as close-knit and includes experience across clinical, nursing and client care roles, along with a clinical coach, two certificate holders and mental health first aiders.

The practice is equipped with ultrasound, X-ray facilities, laser equipment, an endoscope and an in-house laboratory. It also welcomes visiting specialists in orthopaedics, cardiology and ophthalmology, alongside a visiting mobile CT scanner.
