Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a 12 month fixed term Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon role with Stonehenge Vets and Sidbury Hill Vets. You will be based on the Wiltshire and Hampshire border, with easy reach of Salisbury and close to Stonehenge and Woodhenge.

The role is built around 24.5 hours over 3 days, with Saturday mornings on a 1:5 rota from 9am to 2pm and no OOH. It offers a varied mix of consulting and operating, and there is some flexibility for the right candidate.

The practice describes itself as busy, patient focused and strongly team based, with a good mix of skills across the team and a high percentage of insured pets. The Durrington practice is purpose built and has modern facilities, and the two branches are 10 minutes apart.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver consulting and operating across a varied small animal caseload.
• Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to support patient and client care.
• Contribute to the clinical culture of the practice through knowledge sharing and teamwork.
• Support colleagues while continuing to develop your own clinical skills and interests.

Requirements

• A veterinary degree and RCVS registration, or eligibility to register.
• Experience in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
• A proactive attitude to learning, with openness to feedback and development.
• Professionalism, reliability and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• A commitment to excellent patient and client care.
