About the Role

This is a weekend-only position with Vets Now's dedicated out-of-hours emergency team in Worcester. You'll work flexible weekend shifts, allowing you to develop specialist emergency and critical care knowledge whilst maintaining work-life balance. Whether you choose every-other-weekend evenings (Saturday 16:00-22:00, Sunday 18:00-00:00) or a 3-week-on, 1-week-off pattern (Saturday 12:00-18:30, Sunday 08:30-18:30), you'll have genuine flexibility around your other commitments. Bank holidays are shared fairly across the team.

Vets Now operates the UK's largest dedicated out-of-hours network, serving over 1,700 veterinary practices through 60+ clinics and two 24/7 emergency hospitals. The Worcester clinic is part of this expanding network, giving you access to specialist mentorship and CPD resources few practices can match.

Key Responsibilities

• First aid assessment and advice: provide telephone triage and deliver in-clinic first aid protocols
• Critical care nursing: manage and monitor major body systems, track in-patient trends, perform physiotherapy, conduct pain assessments, and provide wound and dressing care
• Diagnostic support: perform basic diagnostic procedures, including sole-charge work where appropriate
• Triage, surgical support, anaesthesia assistance, and in-patient monitoring as part of the clinical team

Requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months
• Motivated to maintain high clinical standards
• Passion for animal welfare and client care
• Experience with emergency and critical care caseloads is advantageous
