Sunday Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This Sunday Veterinary Nurse role is based in Cheltenham and is built around weekend ECC work. The rota is every other Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00, plus a fair share of bank holidays.

The position is designed for a nurse who wants to strengthen ECC knowledge while balancing other commitments. The work includes triage, anaesthesia, surgery and inpatient care, with diagnostics carried out in a sole charge capacity when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid advice over the phone and in clinic.
• Support critical care through monitoring major body systems and inpatient trends.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and assist with physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound care and dressing care.
• Carry out basic diagnostic procedures in sole charge situations.
• Contribute to triage, surgery, anaesthesia and inpatient nursing within the ECC team.

Requirements

• RCVS registration for a minimum of six months.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
• A motivated approach to maintaining clinic standards.
• A genuine commitment to caring for clients and their pets.
