Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

This part-time Veterinary Receptionist role sits within emergency and critical care, supporting clients and patients when they need help most. You will be the first point of contact during emergencies, handling calls, greeting clients, managing transactions and passing information to the clinical team.

The rota is set across four weeks, with Week 1 off, Week 2 covering Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 19:00 to 23:00, Saturday from 12:00 to 18:00, and Sunday from 09:00 to 18:00. Week 3 is off, and Week 4 covers Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 19:00 to 23:00, plus Saturday and Sunday from 18:00 to 23:00, along with a fair share of bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for emergency and critical care clients.
• Answer calls, greet clients and handle financial transactions.
• Relay information to the veterinary team about incoming patients and clients needing assistance.
• Carry out administrative tasks accurately.

Requirements

• Experience or skills suited to a receptionist role in a busy veterinary setting.
• Confidence communicating with clients during emergency situations.
• Good administrative accuracy and attention to detail.
• Availability for the rota pattern listed, including bank holidays.

This role is based within Myerscough Veterinary Group, Longsight Road, Clayton Le Dale, Blackburn, BB2 7JA, and joins the Vets Now Preston team. The wider culture is described as close-knit, with teams that support each other under pressure and work with a shared purpose in emergency care.
