Weekend Vet Surgeon

About the Role

Vets Now Lincoln is a dedicated out-of-hours emergency and critical care facility serving dogs, cats and small animals across the region. This weekend-focused opportunity invites you to join a warm, supportive team providing urgent veterinary care when animals need it most.

You’ll work Sunday shifts (10:00–22:00) on a 2:4 or 3:4 rota, plus a share of bank holiday cover. This is ideal if you’re looking to build ECC experience, balance other commitments, or simply enhance your clinical skills in a structured, non-pressured environment. Out-of-hours doesn’t mean working all hours—the team here prioritises sustainable scheduling and genuine support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency and critical care assessment, diagnosis and treatment for small animals presenting out-of-hours
• Work collaboratively with experienced ECC clinicians and nursing team on Sunday shifts
• Contribute to shared bank holiday cover as agreed
• Maintain high clinical standards whilst supported by dedicated central complaint and customer service teams
• Engage with mentoring and training pathways led by experienced ECC clinicians

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Surgeon (RCVS recognised)
• Enthusiasm for emergency and critical care work
• Ability to work flexibly on weekend shifts
• Commitment to continuing professional development
