About the Role
Forge Farm Vets is looking for an organised, personable Administrator Receptionist to join the practice on a part-time fixed-term basis for 12 months. This is a client-facing role where you will help create a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.
You will support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues. The role is 19 hours per week over 3 days, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am to 3pm, and Friday from 9am to 5pm.
The practice is based in St Martins, Shropshire, with rolling countryside, market towns and easy access to the Welsh hills and nearby cities such as Shrewsbury, Chester and Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for clients
- Manage appointments and day-to-day reception activity
- Handle client enquiries and support client communications
- Work closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to support the patient and client journey
- Carry out administrative tasks using computers and standard operating systems
Requirements
- Approachable and confident when dealing with clients
- Highly organised with good attention to detail
- Comfortable handling administrative tasks and using computer systems
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, welcoming manner
- Experience in a customer-facing role, with a strong focus on service and attention to detail
- Previous experience in a veterinary practice, agricultural business or similar customer-facing role would be advantageous
- An interest in farming or the veterinary sector would be beneficial
- Friendly, collaborative and willing to support colleagues
- Proactive, open to feedback and learning
