About the Role

Batchelor Davidson & Watson in Edinburgh is seeking a certificated or advanced-skilled vet who wants to deepen their impact in a collaborative, close-knit team. The role is offered at 28 hours per week, though full-time and flexible rota arrangements are welcome if that suits you better.

Whether you’re commuting from Livingston, Falkirk, Kirkcaldy, or elsewhere across Fife, Lothian or West Lothian, you’ll find a practice that feels genuinely invested in your success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional small animal clinical care, utilising your certificate or advanced skillset (e.g., cardiology, imaging, dermatology)
  • Work collaboratively within the practice team, contributing to a supportive clinical environment
  • Engage with ongoing clinical development and quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide mentorship and knowledge-sharing where your specialism adds value
  • Maintain strong client communication and service standards

  • Certificate or advanced qualification (e.g., CertAVP, advanced imaging, dermatology, cardiology or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care
  • Team-player mentality with excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to clinical excellence and continuous learning

Benefits

  • Professional fees & CPD: RCVS & VDS fees paid in full; generous CPD allowance with BSAVA library access to 450+ courses
  • Professional development: Fully funded postgraduate qualifications (CertAVP, PgCert) with tuition, exams, and study leave covered
  • Time off: Up to 33 days holiday per year with option to buy/sell additional days
  • Support & mentoring: Access to Vet Oracle telemedicine specialists, Advanced Clinical Services Network, and Regional Clinical Leads for case support and mentoring
  • Wellbeing: Health cash plan, Employee Assistance Programme, Wellbeing Champions network, and enhanced family leave policies
  • Relocation support: Relocation package and visa fees covered where applicable
  • Pet care discount: 50% off veterinary services, plus MiPet food and medication discounts

About the Practice
