ECC Referral Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

Blaise Veterinary Referrals is seeking a Diplomate in ECC, or a residency-trained Emergency and Critical Care clinician, to join on a permanent basis. Both full-time and part-time applicants will be considered.

This is a referral ECC position within a large, multi-disciplinary, specialist-led hospital. You will be part of a welcoming, knowledgeable team, with recognised specialists across Internal Medicine, Oncology, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue and Anaesthesia.

The hospital is one of the largest in the UK, measuring over 36,000 sq ft and with capacity to treat up to 10,000 pets each year. It provides specialist-led multi-discipline referrals and an emergency service from Longbridge, with easy access from the A38 and a location within the West Longbridge regeneration project.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced veterinary care within a referral ECC setting.
• Manage complex cases and provide clinical advice to referring veterinary practices.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary hospital team to support outstanding patient and client care.
• Mentor, supervise and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Contribute to the efficient running of the service and ongoing clinical improvement.

Requirements

• Veterinary degree with RCVS registration.
• RCVS, American or European Board-Eligible or Boarded Diplomate status in ECC.
• Previous experience in a multi-disciplinary referral hospital.
• Experience supporting, mentoring or supervising colleagues.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical governance and continuous improvement.
