About the Role
This Statutory Reporting Accountant position focuses on coordinating the statutory reporting process and supporting year end financial reporting for all UK trading entities. The work includes preparing and reviewing extended trial balances, preparing financial statements, and supporting audit requirements so statutory accounts are submitted on time.
You will also help strengthen balance sheet integrity by resolving historic issues, improving reconciliations and supporting documentation. The role involves close collaboration with Financial Controllers, Group Finance, Global Business Services, Tax, Legal, Company Secretary, external auditors and outsourced finance providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and delivery of statutory financial statements for all UK entities in line with UK GAAP, FRS 101 and Companies Act requirements.
- Prepare and review Extended Trial Balances, ensuring statutory and audit adjustments are reflected accurately.
- Lead the development, governance and continuous improvement of Workiva to improve efficiency, control and standardisation.
- Provide timely and accurate information to external auditors for ETB and statutory financial statement reviews.
- Liaise with third party tax providers and Group Tax teams so tax balances are correctly reflected in ETBs and statutory accounts.
- Work with Company Secretary colleagues to support approval, signature and filing of statutory financial statements with Companies House.
- Coordinate with Genpact, Legal, Tax and Group Finance teams to complete statutory disclosure requirements.
- Improve balance sheet integrity by identifying and resolving historic issues and reconciling differences.
- Identify process improvements that enhance reporting quality, efficiency and scalability.
- Support newly acquired entities to align year end reporting with the group.
- Carry out ad hoc project work as directed by the Financial Controller.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant status, such as ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
- Ideally trained within a Top 10 or mid tier audit practice.
- Experience of external audit and statutory reporting.
- Experience preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements for multiple entities.
- Experience working with international teams or businesses.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and a thorough understanding of IFRS, FRS 101 and UK GAAP.
- Excellent command of English.
- Comfortable working with senior stakeholders in an international environment.
- Strong MS Office skills.
- Workiva experience is desirable.
- Oracle experience is desirable.
