About the Role

Bishopbriggs Veterinary Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and team-focused Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their clinical team on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 12 months. While initially offered as a fixed-term contract, there is potential for this role to become permanent depending on business needs.

You'll work 40 hours per week on a shift pattern of early, mid, or late shifts, plus 1 in 4 Saturdays (9am to 1pm) with time off in lieu. The practice is conveniently located in Glasgow with easy access by rail, car, and bus, and also operates a branch in Chryston with a dedicated dental suite.

The centre is well-equipped with consult rooms, theatre, laboratory, radiography, ultrasound facilities, and dedicated cat and dog wards. Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients and support excellent client experiences
• Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team
• Assist veterinary surgeons in theatre
• Take responsibility for inpatient care
• Carry out nurse consultations
• Contribute to clinical standards and support ongoing development of patient care

Requirements

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement

About the Practice

Bishopbriggs Veterinary Centre has been part of the Glasgow community for many years, originally operating as Ross and Bickerton. It has evolved from a farm and equine practice to now offer a thriving small animal service alongside farm and equine work. The practice expanded with the opening of a branch location in Chryston in 2004. The centre is known for its friendly atmosphere, compassion, and team spirit.
