This is a 12-month full-time veterinary internship designed to accelerate your clinical development in small animal surgery. You'll work alongside experienced surgical specialists in a modern, multi-disciplinary referral hospital, assisting in a diverse range of surgical procedures and gaining exposure to advanced techniques. The role includes 1 in 4 weekend cover for surgery and HDU services, plus occasional out-of-hours work, ensuring you experience the full scope of a busy referral practice.
Hamilton Specialist Referrals is located in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, just five minutes from the M40 and conveniently positioned between London, Oxford, and the Cotswolds. The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with exceptional on-site facilities including a 1.5T MRI and CT scanner suites, four operating theatres, a high-dependency unit, and comprehensive diagnostic equipment.
You'll be encouraged to engage in case discussions across all clinical services, contribute to a positive and informative working environment, and develop your clinical reasoning through ward rounds, teaching sessions, and journal clubs. Attention to detail in both clinical work and record-keeping is central to success in this role.
