1:5 Saturday rota, 08:30-17:45, time off in lieu provided
This full-time or part-time position offers the chance to work at Paxton Vets, a practice run by IVC Evidensia with two modern clinics in South London serving the area for over 50 years. You'll deliver high-quality nursing care across medical and surgical cases with a manageable 1:5 Saturday rota (08:30-17:45, with time off in lieu). The role works on a flexible shift pattern of early, mid, or late turns, or alternatively a 4-day week structure of four 10-hour shifts if preferred.
As part of a nursing team of five, you'll have direct support from the Head Nurse, Practice Manager, and seven veterinary surgeons. Each clinic is equipped with digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, in-house IDEXX laboratory facilities, tonopen, ECG, blood pressure monitors, and pulse oximetry, ensuring you work with modern equipment and a wide range of first-opinion cases.
Paxton Vets operates two modern clinics on either side of Crystal Palace in South London, both established for over 50 years and well known in the local community. The practice is part of IVC Evidensia, the UK's number one vet care provider, trusted with the care of over 2 million animals. Both sites maintain the same high standards of equipment and care, with digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, multiparameter monitors, and in-house IDEXX laboratory facilities capable of haematology, biochemistry, electrolyte, and urinalysis testing.
The team comprises seven veterinary surgeons, dedicated receptionists at each clinic, veterinary care assistants supporting the nursing team, and a Head Nurse providing clinical leadership. The practice culture is values-led, focusing on care, community, and continuous improvement with clear support for ongoing professional development.
