Veterinary Surgeon Team Leader

About the Role

Join PDSA's Bradford Pet Hospital as Veterinary Surgeon Team Leader, a full-time permanent position where you'll hold clinical governance responsibility for the hospital and lead the veterinary surgical team. This daytime-only role (37.5 hours per week) suits a vet with surgical interests who thinks pragmatically, values clear communication, and thrives in a collaborative environment focused on evidence-based medicine and best outcomes for each pet and owner.

Bradford is a highly collaborative, modern hospital with separate dog and cat kennels, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases, and extensive orthopaedic equipment. You'll work alongside a team with varied clinical interests, giving you access to a rich pool of knowledge and genuine peer support for case discussion and shared learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Hold clinical governance responsibility for the Bradford hospital
• Lead the veterinary surgeon team to deliver efficient, professional, and caring clinical services
• Manage all team leadership aspects: recruitment, selection, coaching, and professional development
• Develop surgical leadership capability while mentoring colleagues across clinical practice
• Communicate confidently with a wide range of clients and lead by example in clinical decision-making
• Facilitate case discussion and promote a culture of shared learning and practical medicine

Requirements

• Veterinary Surgeon qualification and RCVS registration (MRCVS)
• Proven clinical experience with a surgical bias or strong interest
• Demonstrable team leadership experience or readiness to develop in this role
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and professional development
