About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position working across New Priory Vets’ main hospital site in central Brighton, with cover shifts at two smaller satellite locations. You’ll be part of a team delivering comprehensive general practice services including medicine, surgery, radiography, CT, ultrasound, and dentistry. With referral specialists on site at the Brighton hospital, you’ll have excellent learning opportunities and support for developing your skills in complex cases.

The role offers a structured 37.5-hour week over four days, including weekend and bank holiday rotations. Located just five minutes’ walk from Brighton train station and twenty minutes from the city centre, you’ll enjoy easy commuting with countryside and coastal activities nearby—perfect if you value a vibrant urban setting balanced with natural outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing care across routine surgical procedures and more complex cases, with support available to develop advanced skills
  • Provide essential support at nursing clinics alongside veterinary surgeons
  • Work as part of a collaborative team across the Brighton hospital and Peacehaven coastal clinic
  • Maintain high standards of patient and client care, supporting long-standing client relationships
  • Contribute to hospital operations at RCVS Hospital Standard accreditation level

Requirements

  • Eligible for RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Preferred: 3+ years post-qualification experience
  • Competency in routine surgical nursing; experience with complex procedures desirable
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and team members
  • Passion for animal and client care with genuine team collaboration mindset
