Ready to make a real difference for rescued animals? Join the RSPCA's West Hatch centre as an Animal Care Assistant and help dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals rebuild trust and find their forever homes.
As an Animal Care Assistant at the RSPCA's West Hatch Animal Centre, you'll work part-time (15 hours per week) on Saturday and Sunday shifts, becoming part of a supportive team dedicated to animal welfare and rescue. Your role sits at the heart of the RSPCA's mission: helping traumatised animals recover, regain confidence and transition to loving homes.
Located in rural Somerset, West Hatch is a thriving animal centre where no two days are identical. You'll work hands-on in all weathers, with colleagues and volunteers who genuinely support one another through both the rewarding and challenging moments of rescue work.
The RSPCA is one of the UK's most established and respected animal welfare charities. West Hatch Animal Centre is a dedicated rescue facility where the organisation cares for dogs, cats, rabbits and other small domestic animals in need of rehabilitation and rehoming. The centre operates as part of a broader network of RSPCA services committed to preventing animal cruelty and promoting compassion.
The RSPCA actively encourages diverse applications, particularly from underrepresented groups including minority ethnic communities and people with disabilities. The organisation offers adjustments throughout the recruitment process and beyond to support all team members.
