Veterinary Care Assistant

About the Role

This full-time Veterinary Care Assistant position is based at BBB Vets in Leicester Forest East, Leicester. The rota covers 37.5 hours per week across opening hours of 8am to 7pm, with no out of hours work required and 1 to 3 Saturdays in every 10 weeks, working 8am to 1pm.

You’ll be supporting the clinical team with patient and client care, helping the practice run smoothly and safely. The role sits under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse and includes inpatient care, patient handling, clinical support and reception duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Support inpatient care as part of the clinical team.
• Assist with patient handling and restraint.
• Help maintain clinical areas and equipment.
• Carry out animal restraint, cleaning and sterilisation of veterinary instruments.
• Undertake reception duties where needed.
• Work under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse.
