Dispensing Operations Assistant

About the Role

This Dispensing Operations Assistant role sits at the centre of prescription processing, helping to keep work moving accurately and in line with regulatory requirements. You'll work closely with the Dispensing Veterinary Surgeon and the wider operational team to resolve outstanding prescription queries and support timely, compliant dispensing.

The role is mainly about chasing up missing or incorrect information with veterinary practices by phone and email, clarifying prescription details and helping to resolve discrepancies. When needed, you'll also support the Customer Care team by assigning medications to orders and uploading prescriptions.

This is a fully remote position with a Monday to Friday schedule, 09:00 to 13:00, for 20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle outstanding prescription queries by contacting veterinary practices by telephone and email.
• Obtain missing or incorrect prescription information and clarify prescription details.
• Help resolve discrepancies so prescriptions can be processed accurately and efficiently.
• Support compliant and timely prescription processing across the dispensary.
• Work with the Dispensing Veterinary Surgeon and operational colleagues.
• Support the Customer Care team when required, including assigning medications to orders and uploading prescriptions.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification on the UK Practising RCVS register, such as Nurse and or SQP.
• Relevant SQP qualification.
• Experience in dispensing prescription medication.
• A customer centric approach to handling queries.
• Good understanding of modern retail operations.
• Knowledge of VMD licenced medicinal products.
• A proactive self starter with a can do attitude and collaborative approach.
