This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week at Mallydams Wood Wildlife Centre, operating on a 2-week rolling roster that includes every other weekend. You'll work both 08:00 to 16:00 and 12:00 to 20:00 shifts, directly contributing to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of wild animal casualties back into their natural habitats.
Every day brings different challenges and rewards. You'll admit new casualties, assess their needs, and track their recovery through meticulous record keeping. You'll maintain pristine hygiene standards across pens, aviaries, pools, and treatment rooms, knowing that cleanliness is fundamental to a successful release. You'll assist in hand rearing orphaned and injured young birds and provide specialist diets to a diverse range of animals. This role involves regular close contact with bats, and a rabies vaccination is required for safety reasons, with full support provided to obtain it.
